Dictator Daniel Ortega Unleashes Another Fiery Verbal Tirade Against the U.S.

Daniel Ortega reemerged at a Sandino anniversary event with renewed attacks on the United States, dismissing criticism of his regime as “malicious propaganda from the North.”

Dictator Daniel Ortega resurfaced during Monday’s commemoration of the 131st anniversary of national hero Augusto C. Sandino’s birth, claiming that “there is malicious propaganda coming from the North.”

In a speech lasting less than 20 minutes, delivered while standing alongside co-dictator Rosario Murillo, government officials, and military chiefs, Ortega marked the anniversary by once again lashing out verbally at the United States and issuing a warning in a threatening tone: “Let them say whatever they want abroad.”

The regime leaders were once again accompanied by members of the Sandinista Youth 19 de Julio, whom they described as “heirs to General Sandino’s legacy.”

Ortega also claimed that “the Yankees” assassinated Sandino because they were “truly terrified” of what he represented, asserting that they believed that by making his body disappear, “Sandino would disappear forever.”

“On this day, we say to God, to Christ, thank you for having sent us Sandino on a day like this, and the greatest thing is that Sandino has not died — Sandino lives,” Ortega declared.

The «malicious propaganda from the North»

The dictator further claimed that there is “malicious propaganda from the North” attempting to convince people “that this country is in ruins” and “that there is no security here.”

“Let them say whatever they want abroad, but here on Nicaraguan soil, my flag is respected,” he reiterated.

Ortega also insisted that the regime would continue “fighting the battle” because “those who impose war are the imperialists of the world,” adding that they would continue “working and struggling on every front in our country.”

During the event, Ortega also highlighted the inauguration of the Coros de Ángeles Hospital in Estelí.

“This is how we will continue multiplying projects for the benefit of children, young people, adults — all Nicaraguans,” he said.

The hospital Ortega referred to is located in Estelí. According to the Ministry of Health, the project is valued at more than 1.147 billion córdobas and includes 117 beds, a 128-slice CT scanner, and equipment for multiple subspecialties, along with specialized care capacity in areas such as hematology, neurology, cardiology, and intensive care.

Ortega Teaches a Manipulated Old Lesson of History. Again

Ortega also recalled Sandino’s humble origins and compared him to Nicaragua´s greatest poet, Rubén Darío, stating that both were born in “humble shacks” and went on to become towering figures in Nicaragua’s history.

The dictator said Sandino “knew how to tell the invading Yankee: I will not sign, because signing means surrendering the homeland, and I will not surrender the homeland.” He also claimed that while “the traitors had signed and handed over their weapons for a few pesos,” the guerrilla leader “was left alone.”

According to Ortega, the first members of the Army in Defense of National Sovereignty consisted of 29 men “vindicating the dignity of the homeland.”

During his remarks, Ortega also maintained that U.S. troops failed to “intimidate or force into surrender” General Sandino´s National Sovereignty Defense Army, asserting that after eight years of combat, “they had no choice but to surrender and withdraw from Nicaragua defeated.”

“That was the first major defeat of U.S. troops in Nicaragua,” Ortega stated.
