Delegation of the dictatorship discusses “security issues” and “the new world order” with Russia

According to official media, the exchange involved discussions about the confirmation of the "new world order," with Russia as an "important axis of development

The Ortega-Murillo regime reported that a delegation led by Laureano Ortega Murillo, son of Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo, the dictatorial couple of Nicaragua, met this Monday with the Secretary of the Security Council of Russia, Sergey Shoygu, in Moscow, allegedly to address bilateral and multilateral cooperation on security matters.

Laureano Ortega serves as the “special representative of the president for matters with Russia.” Other participants include General Commissioner and Deputy Director of the Police, Zhukov Serrano; Álvaro Peña, second-in-command of the Defense Information Directorate (DID) of the Nicaraguan Army; Celia Reyes, Deputy Director of the Nicaraguan Institute of Telecommunications (Telcor); and Alba Torres, Nicaragua’s ambassador to Russia.

According to the official propaganda media in Nicaragua, the exchange involved discussions about the confirmation of the “new world order,” with Russia as an “important axis of development.”

Russia as support to curb potential protests

Official media reported that discussions took place on “bilateral and multilateral cooperation on security in the face of attempts of so-called color revolutions,” highlighting that the regime relies on Russia’s support in the event of potential protest demonstrations.

Color revolutions were peaceful mobilizations with democratic aims. This term originated from a series of protest movements and regime changes that took place primarily in Europe and Central Asia in the early 21st century. Today, it can refer to societal demonstrations against a particular system of government.

Through color revolutions, the population protested against authoritarian regimes, particularly in the former Soviet republics such as Georgia, Ukraine, and Kyrgyzstan.

Laureano meets with head of the Russian Duma

Nicaragua’s dictatorship-controlled media also reported that the President of the State Duma (Lower House of the Russian Parliament), Vyacheslav Volodin, stated that Russia and Nicaragua must ensure that the agreements reached at all levels are consolidated.

“We use different formats of cooperation, but the most important thing is that communication is constant, which significantly contributes to the strengthening and development of our relations. We know that we can rely on you as our allies,” said the President of the Duma.

Francisco Díaz in China discussing cybercrime

While the delegation led by Laureano Ortega Murillo continues its discussions with high-ranking officials in Russia, the General Commissioner of the Police, Francisco Díaz, is participating in the Global Public Security Cooperation Forum, held from September 9 to 11 in Lianyungang, China.

According to a press release from the Police, Francisco Díaz held a meeting with Wan Xiaohong, Minister of Public Security of the People’s Republic of China, as a “follow-up to previous discussions” on matters related to public security in both countries.

Díaz confirmed the continuation of cooperation for the training of Nicaraguan police personnel in areas such as public security, crime prevention, policing techniques, and technologies for “combating terrorism, drug trafficking, and cybercrime,” according to the press release.
